Warrington Certification has appointed Paul Collier, an expert in protective coatings for the construction sector as a Site Inspector for FIRAS, the company's third party certification scheme for installers of fire products.

With more than 30 years experience in the paint industry, Paul has extensive experience at the 'sharp end'. inspecting product applications in the field. His areas of expertise include, anti-corrosion coatings for structural steel work, intumescent fire protection, resin flooring and specialist storage and process tank linings.

A voluntary third party certification for installers of fire protection systems, FIRAS is operated by Warrington Certification and accredited by UKAS. Since its introduction, FIRAS has been at the forefront of improving standardss in the installation of fire protection products and systems to the benefit of the construction industry and the clients whose buildings have been protected by FIRAS certificated contractors.

In order to achieve FIRAS certification, installers have to undergo a number of assessments including random inspections of contracts carried out by inspectors such as Paul.
